When Rolling Stone spoke to T.I. recently for our Future of Music issue, the Atlanta rapper said that he’d recorded upward of 60 songs after being released from his prison stint in December 2009. Since he couldn’t house all those tracks on his upcoming comeback album King Uncaged, T.I. has instead enlisted the help of Gangsta Grillz mavens DJ Drama and DJ MJK for the newly-released Fuck a Mixtape . The release gives fans a taste of what T.I. has planned this August, when King Uncaged is slated to be released.

Fuck a Mixtape — so titled for the skits where guests Jamie Foxx and Lil Duval advise T.I. to “fuck a mixtape” and just release an album — features contributions from a lineup of top producers (Swizz Beatz, Timbaland) and collaborators, including Lil Wayne, who lights up “Yeah” with a guest verse. Topping it all off is T.I.’s “Once Upon a Time,” a semi-cover of Ice Cube’s AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted track “Once Upon a Time in the Projects.”

As impressive as the guests are on Fuck a Mixtape, King Uncaged promises an even better lineup of collaborators: Lady Gaga, Eminem, The-Dream, Kid Rock and Trey Songz will all cameo on his new album, according to MTV. As Rolling Stone previously reported, T.I. likened King Uncaged to Tupac’s post-prison album All Eyez on Me. “This is the most significant return from incarceration that the game has had and experienced since [All Eyez on Me], and just given the enormous success of that project, everyone’s expecting the same results,” T.I. told RS.

Kid Cudi has revealed that his upcoming Man On The Moon 2 album will most likely be released late summer.

The rapper, who recently reunited with Kanye West for a pop-rock song for his upcoming effort, has also thanked his fans for the reception of new track ‘Dance Yrself Clean’, featuring Chip Tha Ripper.

Cudi wrote on his official blog: “Thanx for all the love on the new joint y’all. I really appreciate it, sincerely. This was an idea I had that me and Chip decided to do for fun. As of right now, it’s not on anything, we just recorded it and put it out just for the f**k of it.

“It’ll be awhile til MOTM2 (still gunnin’ for August or September release). So I might keep releasing some fun joints here and there. I’ll keep you all posted faaashow.”

Eminem unveiled “Not Afraid,” the first single from his forthcoming Recovery album, on Thursday morning (April 29), and the track is a strong departure from the usual lead cuts Slim Shady delivers: There are no jabs at pop-culture icons, no jovial goofballing. Mr. Mathers is reflective and remorseful over the Boi-1da-produced track.

“It’s been a ride, I guess I had to go to that place to get to this one. Some of you might still be in that place. If you trying to get out, follow me,” he says, talking at the beginning of the track.

As the raps starts to kick in, Em threatens to “tear down” those who looked down on him.

“You can try to read my lyrics off of this paper before I lay ‘em/ But you won’t take the sting out these words before I say ‘em.

“I’m not afraid/ To take a stand,” he continues on the chorus. “Everybody come take my hand/ We’ll walk this road together through the storm/ Whatever weather come the war/ Just letting you know that you’re not alone/ Holla if you feel been down the same road.”

On the second verse, Em admits to some artistic missteps and declares that his last album, Relapse, was a bit of letdown.

“To the fans, I never let you down again, I’m back/ I promise to never go back on that promise,” the MC says in the song’s second verse. “In fact, let’s be honest/ That last Relapse CD was ehh/ Perhaps I ran them accents into the ground/ Relax, I ain’t going to do that now.”

Later in the verse, Em talks about his personal struggles.

“But I think I’m still trying to figure this crap out/ Thought I had it mapped out, but I guess I didn’t/ It’s time to exorcise these demons / These muthaf—as are doing jumping jacks now.”

As the song comes to a close, Em says he doesn’t want any more drama and wants to focus on raising his family.

“I can’t just keep living this way,” he sings. “So starting today, I’m breaking out of this cage / I’m standing up, I’mma face my demons/ I’m manning up, I’mma hold my ground/ I’ve had enough, I’m so fed up/ Time to put my life back together right now.”

Recovery is slated for a June 22 release.

DJ Neil Armstrong’s mixtape, “The DNA of the Blueprint” is Neil’s personal way of putting a distinctive bookmark in his recent life’s chapter, and a way to pass a sincere thank you to Jay-Z, Mr. Sean Carter, for the opportunity to rock on stage with him as an artist around the world over the last two years – and for the kindness to Neil: as a person. And you know Neil had to do it in his language: a thank you in music. Head to www.DJNeilArmstrong.com/dnabp3 to download the mix for free. Full of samples, remixes, and insightful quotes, this mixtape is Neil’s interpretation of the artistry that’s woven into the entire “Blueprint” series.

The latest Fabolous mix tape, The Funeral Service: There is No Competition 2 (which you can download/stream for free at livemixtap.es/tinc2). As rap free-spirits Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Kid Cudi continue to expand the genre toward pop, dance and other sounds, it’s refreshing to hear a rapper (let alone a New York rapper) excel at the prototypical jackin’-for-beats mix tape blueprint.

As with most mix tapes, there’s some filler and too many guest verses, but TINC2 is a must-download (pretty easy when it’s free)  thanks to Fab’s lyrical potency. The tape is obsessed with metaphorical death; the idea that Funeral Fab’s verses have the ability to kill lamer rappers. In this sense, the bodies continue to pile up with each 16 bars (to the point of hanger-on Freck Billionaire announcing, “He wasn’t lying. There is no competition left. There’s nothing but dead rappers everywhere. Fake chains all over the ground, everywhere” on “Roger That”).

If you need more convincing, I’ve picked my five favorite Fabolous lines after the jump. (This seems to change all the time, but that’s an indication of the quality.) As with a lot of rap lyrics, these lines aren’t necessarily SFW. Oh, well.

1. “I’m Raw”
B—h, I’m raw
So you hearing that any n—a out-cook me
is suspect as R. Kelly with girl scout cookies
When you talking to a pro, watch your mouth, rookie
Go in your s–t and have your teeth playing mouth hooky

2. “Roger That”
Shorty say what it do is what I make her do
Get her on the first shot
Yeah, I one-take your boo
Now she need the Black Mamba badder than the Lakers do
I DDT the p—y, I’m Jake the Snake to you
I put ‘em in the coffin, I’m in the Undertaker, too
She met the god, now her man gonna meet his maker, too

3. Oh Let’s Do It
I’ma kill ‘em dead, come and get the bodies up
B—-es tryin’ to kick it, like they just took karate up
They talking some Christmas s–t, saying what the f–k they want
Need to call the next n—a who care about what the f–k they want
Hung up on that hoe, bruh? Save that talk for Oprah
When I spit, I kill s–t, should have been a cobra

4. It’s Goin’ Down
It’s goin’ down, 12 o’clock ball drop
We push 9-11s but we don’t call cops
I’m Paul Blart, n—a
All I do is mall cop
Being fly is gonna be the death of me
Check my autops

5. “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley”
Beamer, Benz, or Bentley? Life’s full of decisions
If hating was a crime, you would do life up in a prison
The spiteful competition knows they wouldn’t have a shot at eating
if they had a rifle in they kitchen

BONUS BECAUSE IT’S FUNNY: “My s–t bananas / like a monkey number two”
