cloud computing

June 30th, 2009

For sometime now i have been making the transition to “Cloud Computing”. that is when your apps and your documents are all online. i love it because it removes the computing power away from your pc, it reduces your pc storage needs, and especially useful if you bounce between multiple computers. Here is a short list ive put together to help you out in your journey to hard drive freedom.

1. http://Gmail – i use this to manage my mail, not JUST gmail, it also handles all the mail from all of my other accounts. and i can send mail using either acount, all in gmail.

2. http://docs.google.com – i use this to create spreadsheets and any other document i may need, like my resume.

3. http://pixlr.com – this is an online photo editor

4. http://openitonline.com – they have a firefox extension that allows you to open documents and images on the websites i mentioned above.

5. http://meebo.com – this website allows you to login to all of your chat services, yahooIM, AIM, Googletalk, even Facebook chat. all from one interface, and even stores you history for you.

6. http://pandora.com – no downloading of music needed. with pandora now available on my blackberry curve, i have all the music i can ever ask for.

7. http://hulu.com – watch all your favorite TV shows without the need to download
